Islamabad, Pakistan: A funeral ceremony for three security personnel killed during recent protests was held at Chaklala Garrison, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief General Asim Munir. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the soldiers—Naik Muhammad Ramzan, Sepoy Gulfam Khan, and Sepoy Shahnawaz—were martyred while on duty during protests that turned violent. Their remains have been sent to their native areas, where they will be laid to rest with full military honors.
Prime Minister Condemns Violence: Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the violence, stating, “These acts of violence are testing the limits of tolerance of our law enforcement agencies. Pakistan cannot afford chaos and bloodshed for political objectives.” He added, “The nation salutes these martyrs, and their sacrifices will not be forgotten. Such acts of violence are unacceptable and deeply condemnable.”
A National Tribute to the Martyrs: The ISPR emphasized that the fallen personnel will be honored for their sacrifice and dedication to maintaining peace during a tumultuous time. The funeral was marked by a solemn tribute to their bravery and commitment to the nation. This incident has raised concerns over escalating tensions in Pakistan, with the government reiterating its commitment to restoring order and protecting the lives of its citizens and security forces.
